• In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?• How does your media product represent particular social groups?• What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?• Who would be the audience for your media product?• How did you attract/address your audience?• What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
In my short film i have used cuts and fades from different angles of film to create an effective film which follows the 180 degree, match on action and shot reverse shot. I have selected actors and given them unfrom in order to create a stereotype, in order to cut speech and create a short sharp piece of editting.
My programme represents a younger genereation, perhaps of secondry school children, and the use of music gives the clip a chilled out relaxing film, it would be suitable to be watched by any age group without any real offence being taken at the use of speech and the frames contents.
The type of media institution that might distripute my media product would be a tv firm or an advertisement group, the use of short films are most commonly seen as TV adverts. However the clip shows the conventions used in a professional film, for this reason it wouldn't be a problem if the clip was used as part of an actual film. The reasons for distribution of this type of clip would be due to the fact that the quality editing and voice overs gives the clips the final piece a powerful effect which engages the audience.
The audience for my type of clip would be tv viewers and film watchers. It would probably be seen more by a passive audience as it is just a taster clip, the amateur actors used would also lower the socio ecomoic group that it would appeal to maybe C2 D and E would be the sole viewers.
From not breaking the 180 degree rule and keeping the camera clips changing as soon as the idea is put across I have created an effective piece of film, this helps keep the auudience watching without getting borred of the same continuous shot of a boring scene. Along with this i have used music to bring the clip together as a whole and this hels round of the clip making it more engaging.
Throughout this project i have been using iMovie and the equipment that goes with it including the camera and the tripod, i have learnt how to upload video clips, enhance images and add sound effects. With all of this i have been able to cut clips and add sound effects and voice overs to create a film which covers the work specification aswell as teaching me the capabilities of iMovie software.
